Schluter-DITRA are specially designed for use with ceramic and natural stone tiles. It provides an uncoupling function that prevents cracking of tile and grout. Made of polyethylene, DITRA and DITRA-XL serve as a waterproofing layer to protect moisture-sensitive substrates such as plywood/OSB. The voids under the membrane allow excess moisture and vapor to escape from the substrate - otherwise the tile could be damaged. DITRA and DITRA-XL perform all of these functions, in addition to providing adequate support and load distribution for the tile covering.
- Provides uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management and heavy load distribution to maintain the durability and integrity of tiled installations
- DITRA has a nominal thickness of 1/8" (3 mm) - limits tile thickness and height of transitions to lower floor coverings
- Can be installed over concrete, plywood, OSB, gypsum, existing vinyl floors, structural planks, subfloors and radiant floor heating systems
- Features an interlocking rib structure with a non-woven felt underneath that will bond to the substrate without filling the cavities with cement glue
